Eden Bible Church in the news!
From the Record Patriot:
Beulah- Eden Bible Church is nearing the end of an expansion project which began late last fall. With years of saving and planning the growing church is ready to move into the new sanctuary which seats 450 people hopefully by Easter Sunday.
In the fall of 1983, Dan Ingersoll stood on the viaduct overlooking the village of Beulah and prayed over a community in which he was about to begin a ministry.
That ministry was to pastor a small one-room church with no well, an outhouse (deluxe style three-holer) and eight souls. When asked what he would do if the church didn’t grow he replied, “If we are faithful to God’s word, it will grow.”
Pastor Dan often quotes Proverbs 29:18 which says, “Where there is no vision the people perish.” Being a man of faith and with a vision, this 33-year old pastor rolled up his sleeves and went to work.
Dan tells the story of the first new visitors at Eden Bible Church. A 1978 Ford truck pulled up to the church with the words “Big and Ugly” painted on the side. The pastors thoughts were, “I don’t care how they look like, just bring them in.”
Out of the truck stepped a lady named Liz Koski. Twenty three years after her first visit to Eden, Liz has been awarded the National Sunday School Teacher of the Year by Gospel Light Magazine and has received a cruise for two to Alaska.
Dan says, “From the very beginning the hand of God was on this church. I am convinced that the Bible is authoritative and life changing. If we teach it as God has intended it has power to transform a life. I witnessed this in my life and countless other lives.”
What was and still is the vision of Dan Ingersoll? To teach the Bible and not to compromise or deviate from God’s Word or the patterns set for a New Testament Church.
Part of the vision was to have a facility, namely a multi-purpose gym and kitchen to accommodate all church and community needs. Also to expand the sanctuary as the congregation grew. This vision of growth and expansion has been realized debt free through faithful giving.
With growth have also come many ministries for Eden Bible Church which includes Sunday School for all ages, the AWANA Club for children K-6 grade, a radio ministry, Ladies Fellowship, funeral dinners and weddings, among other things. Eden is committed to world wide missions, currently supporting ten missionaries in the U.S. and abroad.
Pastor Dan and all the people at Eden Bible Church encourage everyone to come and see the new sanctuary. If anyone does not have a local church, they are welcome to stay and worship.
